ONR Employs Emerging Media to Reach Emerging Talent

If you were tempted to see social networking and/or new media as a passing fad, this might cause you to rethink your position. The Office of Naval Research (ONR), a 64-year-old organization, extended its annual call for Young Investigator Program proposals Sept. 2 reaching beyond conventional channels to announce its fiscal 2011 program for university researchers using social media.  ONR launched profiles on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube earlier this year.
