Restricting as a means to inspire creativity

December 20, 2010

The Bionic Teaching blog has a great post on the idea of restricting the possibilities, in a digital story, to increase creativity.

I am intrigued with the idea of 25 word or six word stories, six word teen memoirs and more…

Tim Owens left an excellent quote in the comments section of this post. Check out his blog as well, as he also has some interesting ideas for digital storytelling under the guise of less is more.

He writes, “The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees one’s self. And the arbitrariness of the constraint serves only to obtain precision of execution.”
– Igor Stravinsky
